Rather unfortunately the Women's Web World site design looks a lot like a pack of Feminax. As a gateway to resources on feminism it is OK, with a few good journals, recent research and so on. What it does best, however, is act as an administrative system co-ordinating direct action across the States. Most of the interesting material is American, so don't expect too much.

Web-Grrl: noun meaning 1. a woman on the Web, 2. a member of the cool international networking group, 3. someone totally sassy who created this spunky little site. Operating as the admin arm of a bunch of cybersisters, Webgrrls is looking for people to start groups around the world. That way, if you want a job, HTML lessons, an email address or a programmer, you'll already be electronically linked to someone who can help. There are also a set of resources on women-owned businesses and organisations, our-bodies-ourselves sort of links and stuff for the whole family. And far from being a boy-free zone you're encouraged to add your best boy pages.

CPSR has effected several very successful lobbies in its 15-year existence, including a high profile campaign to get the US Government to reveal the extent of its electronic surveillance activities. As an organisation it is committed to educating the policymakers and the public into informed choices concerning the applications of information technology. It campaigns on privacy, gender issues, and is anxious to promote universal public access to the growing communications infrastructure. All pretty interesting and very laudable.

Ireland's premier Internet service is the home to many of the country's main businesses, including Allied Irish Bank, Baileys Irish Cream and 2FM the main music station. A friendly interface, plenty of links and some useful resources go to make up a good introduction to business and entertainment in Ireland. All fairly straight-laced and not a 'top-o'-the-mornin' in sight.
